12th Annual Real Estate Challenge
Final Presentations | April 23 | Wintrust Chicago (231 S LaSalle St)
Eleven teams from across the nation have been tasked with creating a master development plan to reimagine Johnny's IceHouse East, the former home of the Chicago Blackhawks' practice rink.
The site has the potential for adaptive reuse of the existing structure or ground-up development. Student teams will be tasked with proposing a development plan that is economically viable and complements the unique uses surrounding the site.

A Successful Second REAL Bright Summit

This year's REAL Bright Summit, presented by Old Second National Bank, welcomed students and industry leaders from across the nation - and the globe - for 15 events and programs throughout the week-long event. Over 50 speakers participated to educate and mentor college students representing over 50 universities.
Special congratulations to Marquette University, winners of the university competition to send the most students to the Summit. The students were awarded a meeting with two top recruiters from CBRE who shared insider tips, training, and best practices. Eisenberg Research Scholar Identifies Potential Target for Pancreatic Cancer
Investigators Mario A. Shields, ’12 PhD, and Hidayatullah G. Munshi, MD, have discovered a protein that could lead to new pancreatic cancer therapies. Dr. Munshi was awarded the prestigious Harold E. Eisenberg Foundation Research Scholar Award in 2020-2021, which allows scientists to explore novel ideas aimed at discovering cures for gastrointestinal (GI) cancers.

DIY Fundraising: How One Person Makes a Difference
Junior Board member Ari Braun is celebrating becoming a Bar Mitzvah in Israel this spring and has chosen to help raise money for the Harold E. Eisenberg Foundation. His DIY fundraising efforts will support GI cancer research in memory of his grandpa, Papa Chip, who passed away in 2000 after battling pancreatic cancer.
